Primary Tonsillar Tuberulosis: a case report

چکیده
Primary tuberculosis of tonsil is extremely rare and is often mistaken for malignancy, although tuberculosis infection is widespread in all parts of world especially in southeast Asia and Africa. We present a case of tonsillar tuberculosis in an adult female who was suspected of malignancy and subsequently proved to have tuberculosis on histopathology.

Primary tuberculosis of tonsils is rare. We reported a case of primary tonsillar tuberculosis in a 55-year-old female who presented with sore throat and enlargement of right tonsil. Histopathology revealed tuberculoisis. Complete resolution was found after antitubercular therapy. Tonsillar tuberculosis should be considered if patient is not responding to antibiotics.
